How the idea for Matty Tales was born

When I became a mother, I truly understood for the first time how quickly childhood passes.
Just yesterday — the first walk, the first hat, the first steps. And today you're already looking at the photos and can't believe how much your child has grown in such a short time.

That's when the idea of creating Matty Tales was born - a children's story brand that has become much more than just clothing for me.

Clothes that become part of childhood

While walking with the stroller, I thought and dreamed about what it would become.
I wanted to create things that would evoke emotions. Things that you would want to photograph, remember, pass on in family archives, and remember years later. Clothes that would become a part of your childhood.
Clothes that you will want to give to friends.
I really wanted Ukrainian parents to have access to beautiful, well-thought-out, high-quality children's clothing with an interesting idea and a strong visual world. But at the same time, this clothing remained affordable for families.

This is how the concept of Matty Tales was born - a brand for children who explore the world and for parents who want to experience this childhood with them.

A world that inspires imagination

I have always believed that the things that surround a child from an early age shape their perception of the world. Color, details, stories, characters, illustrations - all of this affects imagination, emotionality, and self-expression.

That's why I wanted to create clothes with bright elements, unusual characters, and whole little worlds inside the collections. Clothes that inspire to fantasize, play, and invent your own adventures. Clothes for experiments — not only for children, but also for parents.

It was very important to me that the brand had a strong visual foundation and its own character. That is why I involved one of the strongest Ukrainian teams in creating the branding — RGB Idea Group, a sense-making agency, who helped transform my idea into a holistic visual world.

A dream that became reality

A big step towards launching the brand was winning a state grant of 500,000 hryvnias to create a children's clothing brand. For me, it was not only funding, but also confirmation that this idea was needed.

These funds were invested in almost all stages of creating the brand: identity development, packaging, marketing strategy, production, first collections, printing, embroidery, website creation and the launch of the project itself. And today I can honestly say — I am very happy to see the result.

SS 26 “BORN TO EXPLORE“ Collection“

The brand's first story was called Born to Explore. It is a nautical collection about a boy explorer who lives by the sea, dreams of adventure and discovers the world every day. It contains many symbols of freedom, play, the sea and children's imagination.

But Matty Tales is not just about clothes.

More than a children's clothing brand

My big dream is to create a whole universe of children's stories. Stories that start with a book. Where a hero is born, characters, symbols, and adventures emerge. Then these heroes come to life in the form of toys, become prints on clothes, and become part of children's play and interaction between parents and children.

I want each collection to be a separate story. So that a child doesn't just put on a T-shirt or a hat, but feels like a part of a small world where they can explore, fantasize, and be themselves.

And, perhaps, this is the main idea of Matty Tales - to remind adults how important it is to preserve childhood. Because time really flies very quickly. And the memories, emotions and little stories that we experience together with children remain with us forever.
